Mother Arrested After Newborn Test Positive For Drugs



FLORENCE, AL- The mother of a newborn baby that tested positive for drugs was arrested Wednesday, according to a release from the Florence Police Department.




Florence Police say they were notified by Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital staff that Heather Cagle, 31 from Florence, Al, gave birth on February 11th and that her newborn baby and she tested positive for narcotics.

Cagle was arrested on Wednesday. 
The release says that Cagle is currently in the Lauderdale County Detention Center and is charged with Chemical Endangerment of a Child which is a Class C felony.
Cagle's bond has been set at $5,000.
