Hibbetts Sporting Goods closed its doors on Monday and went out of business. On Tuesday a moving truck was in front of the store and it appeared the store's inventory was already being removed.

WOPC HD News reached out to now-former employees and we were told that they received no notice of the closing. One employee said she was told via text message of the closing.

The store's manager Dawn Moore said that the district manager "had found out last week"
and came to the store and told her on Monday that the store would be closing. She also said that the district manager came to the store and later talked to all employees one on one.

Moore said that the store was not profitable last year and that she was "not angry with any from the corporate office, They are handling this situation very professionally and with sympathy and kindness."

The sporting goods giant which operates over 1000 stores nationally, opened the Lewis County location in 2014 and currently had five employees.

The company is trying to place employees that have been displaced in other locations.
