Summertown Lady Eagles Are Ranked Number One In Class A.

SUMMERTOWN, TN- The Lady Eagles (27-1) are ranked number one in the State of Tennessee in Class A for the first time this season. It comes at a great time as they get ready for Region 6A Tournament play against District 11A member West Carroll Friday night at Gene McBee Gymnasium.

The Lady Eagles are the 2017-18 District 12A Regular Season and Tournament Champions as well as the reining Region 6A Champions one year ago. The Lady Eagles went on to the State Tournament last season where they made the Final Four.

Coach Craig McGill has his ladies primed and ready for another State Tournament run where they are legitimate contenders for their first State Basketball Championship in program history. The Lady Eagles, who start five seniors and have 2 freshman come off the bench, have all been playing on the varsity level since their eighth grade and freshman seasons as well as their middle school years.

This is a close knit group that are more like sisters than teammates and know each other's strengths and weaknesses, which being on a 26 game winning streak, that dates back to November 18th, doesn't seem like there are many weaknesses for the ladies in Blue and White.

The Summertown Lady Eagles are undefeated at home at (11-0), road games (10-1), and (6-0) at a neutral site. They average 59.8 points per game and give up only 35 points per game.

Look for the Lady Eagles in the next week as they look to bring back a Region 6A Title as well as a State Championship to this small town in the northwestern part of Lawrence County.
