Linden Fire Department To Install Free Smoke Detectors

LINDEN, TN-  Statistics say that in a modern home fire a person can die in less than 60 seconds. The Linden Fire Department is installing free smoke detectors because they know that seconds count in the event of a fire.
Recently the State of Tennessee Fire Marshals office delivered 60 smoke detectors to the Linden Fire Department as part of the "Get Alarmed!!"  program. That program provides free smoke detectors to the residents of Tennessee. These detectors are even installed by the fire department.

The alarms have a 10-year battery.

Melvin Martin who serves as the Fire Chief of Hardin County told WOPC HD News that modern home furnishings contain several chemicals and when they burn they often give off cyanide gas. That gas can disable someone in a matter of seconds in a fire.

Linden Fire Cheif Don Bates said, "This program is open to all citizens of Perry County."

To schedule, your free installation call the Town of Linden at (931) 589-2736 or the Fire Cheif at (931) 306 8872
