Hickman County Schools Placed On Lockdown; Armed Fugitive Sought

HICKMAN COUNTY, TN- Three East Hickman Schools were placed on lockdown Wednesdays afternoon.
Hickman County Sheriff Randall Ward tells WOPC HD News that his officers attempted a traffic stop near the schools.  The sheriff said two subjects fled on foot.

At least one of the subjects crossed school grounds. At that time the school was placed on lockdown.

Sheriff Ward said one subject was in custody, while another remains at large.

The sheriff said that the lock had ended at approximately 4:15 p.m. and his deputies would be on school grounds to monitor and check the buses.

The Sheriff's Office released the following statement:

Hickman Sheriff's Deputies are actively searching for a suspect who fled from a traffic stop near East Food Center after a brief pursuit.

The suspect was identified as Jeremy B. Hollis, age 22. He is believed to be armed.

East Elementary, Intermediate, and Middle School were immediately placed on a lockdown.

Hollis was last seen running in the area of the schools wearing a dark hat, camo jacket and blue jeans.
