Bill Would Require Tennessee Schools To Post In God We Trust

NASHVILLE, TN- A new bill filed by a middle Tennessee lawmaker would require schools to prominently display "In God We Trust" in all schools.

State Representative Susan Lynn (R), Mt. Juliet, introduced a bill last week that she has titled the "National Motto in the Classroom Act."

The bill would require all schools in Tennessee to post "In God We Trust" in a prominent location in each school. The legislation says that a plaque or student art would have to be placed in a location like a lunchroom or a place where students would likely see the motto.
