Significant Threat Of Icing Ahead Of Snowfall

MEMPHIS, TN - Even though the snowfall may be exciting, it's the ice that could cause significant travel and utility impacts Thursday night into Friday.
Officials with the National Weather Service in Memphis say some of the highest amounts of icing and snowfall could be centered near Paris, TN and points along the Tennessee River Valley. In just a matter of hours, a Winter Storm Watch will take effect for all of West Tennessee and potions of Middle Tennessee including Perry, Lewis, Wayne, Hickman and Humphreys Counties.
As of Thursday morning's data, the National Weather Service says the transition from ice to snow will occur overnight Thursday for most of West Tennessee and early Friday morning for points along the Tennessee River and east.
