School Bus Crashes After Avoiding Deer Strike

PERRY COUNTY, TN - Two people were taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after a school bus overturned in rural Perry County.
The accident happened on Cotton Branch Road just outside of Linden. School officials said the bus driver and her granddaughter, 10, were the only two passengers on board at the time of the accident. Officials say the two were not injured, but were taken to Perry Community hospital as a precaution.

"A deer ran out in front of them" said Eric Lomax, Director of Schools for Perry County. "She (the driver) tried to dodge the deer and ran off the road into a creek" Lomax added. "We are very thankful no one was seriously injured" Lomax noted.

The accident was investigated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
