Quick Winter Blast May Bring Snow For Some

NASHVILLE, TN - Once again the weather discussion has turned to a snow possibility later this week. Sunday, the National Weather Service Office in Nashville issued some guidance in a lighthearted way. Here is a copy of the message:

Light winter weather event possible Thursday night into Friday
A strong cold front will pass through the mid state on Thursday, with light precipitation lingering into Thursday night and possibly even Friday. However, it appears the deepest moisture will exit before subfreezing air arrives.
Forecast confidence:
Improving as the GFS and European models show better agreement, but still not great
Is it too early to start predicting snowfall amounts?
Panic level:
Excitement level:
Is it still possible than an anvil will fall on my head if I make grocery store jokes?
Yes it is. Don't be the next Wile E.
Will I get out of school Friday?
You'll have to harass Snowbird about this.
What about roads Friday morning?
The roads will still be there. What's on the roads remains a toss-up.
Is it possible the forecast will change between now and then?
This is the only thing we're 100% sure of.

Just two weeks ago, a winter weather blast closed schools across the Tennessee River Valley for more than a week. As the message indicated, the timing on this uncertain front is Thursday into Friday. the Weather Authority Team, TennesseeNewsNet and 101.3 WOPC, Sunny 106.5 will keep you updated.
