Pounds Of Pot And Pills Seized In Post Office Bust


Lawrence County, Tn- Lawrence County officials say they were able to take over ten pounds of marijuana and 850 pills off the street after a drug bust on Tuesday.


According to a press release from the Lawrence County Sherriff's Office's Drug Investigation Department were able to intercept and seize a huge quantity of drugs that was by the United States Postal Service. They say they seized ten pounds of marijuana and 850 oxycodone 30mg pills.

The LCSO office says they took Demarcus L. Smith, 39, Florence, AL, into custody after the alleged drugs were seized.

Court documents show that Smith is charged with Attempted Possession of Schld II (Oxycodone) for resale, Attempted Possession of Schld VI (Marijuana) for resale and one count each of Conspiracy to Possess Schld II and VI.

Smith is currently being held at the Lawrence County Denetion Center with no bond.
