Perry County Teams Defeat Frank Hughes, Get Ready For Top Ten Eagles

In one of the most important games of the year, so far, for the Lady Vikings (10-7, 1-2 12A), they sure didn’t disappoint. Both teams came up ready to play as both schools were out all week do to ice and snow.
The Lady Vikings led by Chynia Brooks were tied 14-14 after one. In the second quarter the Lady Vikings were able to put a little separation between them and the Lady Lions. Unfortunately, Frank Hughes came roaring and made the score 32-27 at the half in favor of Perry County. In the second half it was all Andrea Bradford for the Lady Vikings as she had 24 points to lead PCHS to a much needed first win in the District 61-49.

The Vikings (11-5, 2-1 12A) were coming off a disappointing loss to rival Summertown. The Frank Hughes Lions were looking for their first district win of the season. In the first quarter, the Vikings were unfazed and were able to come out with a 18-5 lead. In the second Jackson Moore and Brock Young led the charge as the Vikings led 36-10 at the half. In the second half it was big dose of J.J. Capps. The Junior was unconscious all night and so was Jackson Moore as the Vikings were able to take down the Lions 76-28.

The Lady Vikings and Vikings were supposed to take on the Summertown Lady Eagles and Eagles last night at Home at Dave Rhodes Memorial Gym. Both PCHS squads head to Collinwood Friday night to take on the Trojanettes and Trojans. Then Saturday the Girls and Boys in Black take on the Lewis County Lady Panthers and Panthers. All games will be broadcast on 101.3 WOPC and wopcradio.com/ sports at 6 p.m. as Tim Thomas and I bring you all the play by play action!
