Multiple Agencies Battle Forest Fire For Hours

PERRY COUNTY, TN- Because of strong winds and dry conditions, what looked like a small fire took hours to control.

On Friday local crews were dispatched to the 4000 block of Hwy 412 West at approximately 2:30 p.m. to what was called a forest fire.

When crews arrived they realized the fire was near the home of one if thier own. The fire was behind Linden Fire Cheif Don Bates home and the fire was spreading fast.

Multiple fire departments and law enforcement arrived in force to try and get the fire inder control. State Forestry Department soon arrived with trucks and a bulldozer to assist.

It took hours for the crews to gain full control over the wind driven fire.

After the fire was under control Fire Chief Don Bates took to social media to thank everyone that came to his assistance.
