Firefighters Battle Linden House Fire In Frigid Temps

LINDEN, TN- A Linden family of six, who had just brought a new born baby home, barley escaped a house fire this morning.  

According to a family friend the couple had just brought home their new born baby yesterday and while the family slept, their home caught on fire. The family of six includes four children all under that age of 7, with the youngest being only three days old.

The family was awakend by one of the children who had come into their room crying and that is when they smelled smoke.

The family was able to make it out of the home through windows.

Multiple fire crews responded and battled the blaze in freezing temperatures with wind chills registering at or below zero. The home was  engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, crews tried to save the home but sadly it was a total loss.

According to a family friend the family was only able to save a box of diapers and three bottles of baby formula.

Friends of the family are setting up a relief effort to assist the family.
