He's Baaaaaack!

After walking away from the game of hockey last summer, Mike Fisher has decided that maybe he isn't quite done just yet.

"It's great to be back," Fisher said, "I think about the retirement. I never really thought of it as a possibility. I had the blessing from my family and my wife (Carrie Underwood). It's such a great opportunity. I'm ready for it."

Fisher currently doesn't have a contract, per source. When he does sign one, it is expected to be for the remainder of the year.

"Deer season is officially over," said GM David Poile said at the beginning of the announcement. "I am really happy you are coming back." Poile told Fisher.

Fisher retired last August after a 17 year NHL career after the Predators lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stanley Cup Finals.

"I believe this team is built to win. I believe this year could be our year."

As for the former Captain getting his "C" back, Roman Josi will remain the Captain for the Predators even with Fisher's return.

The team is trying to get a contract deal before the deadline of February 26th.

There is no time table as to when the former captain will play but will be participating in practice.
