2 Officers Shot After Gunfire Breaks Out At NewYearsEveParty

Newburn-  According to the Dyer County Sheriff's Office two police officers were shot when they responded to a call at a club in Newburn.

The shooting happened around 3 a.m. at Douglas Café at 114 Smith Street in Newbern.

Early reports indicate two officers with the Newbern Police Department responded to a disturbance call at the club around closing time, where a New Year’s Eve party was taking place.

Gunfire broke out and the two officers and an individual were reportedly shot.

All three were taken to a Memphis hospital.

The Dyer County Sheriff's Office says that the officers are expected to recover from their wounds.

The condition of the individual is not know.

One suspect is in custody and two remain at large.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation.
